creteapts.gr is a listing platform built specifically for people looking to live in Crete — not visit it.

There is a real difference. Short-term rental platforms are designed for tourists: weekly bookings, tourist-season pricing, places that come fully kitted out but cost twice what a local would pay. None of that works if you are planning to stay for two months, six months, or longer.

That is what creteapts.gr was created to solve. Every listing on the platform is aimed at long-term stays — typically 60 days or more. The prices reflect that. The properties are real apartments that people actually live in, not holiday units dressed up with breakfast trays.

How It Works

Browsing and contacting property owners is completely free. There are no booking fees, no service charges, and no hidden costs on our end. You find a property you like, you contact the owner directly through our platform, and you arrange things between yourselves. We stay out of the transaction.

Owners list their properties on creteapts.gr because they want tenants who plan to stay. Many of the listings you will find here are not available anywhere else — owners who prefer longer stays and quieter arrangements over the revolving door of short-term tourism.

Why Crete

Crete is the largest Greek island and one of the most liveable places in the Mediterranean. The climate is mild almost year-round, the food is exceptional, the cost of living is significantly lower than most Western European cities, and the island has a real community feel that many expats find hard to find elsewhere.

Heraklion, the capital, has grown substantially in recent years. Fibre internet is widely available. There are international schools, private hospitals, and a functioning public transport system. It is no longer a place you move to and rough it — it is a place where you can actually build a comfortable, connected life.

We live here. That matters. The platform is built by people who understand the realities of long-term living in Crete, not by a startup team in an office somewhere else optimising for conversion rates.

What We Are Not

We are not a property agency. We do not take commission. We do not manage bookings or handle payments. If a dispute arises between a tenant and a landlord, that is between them — we are not party to any rental agreement.

We also do not verify every claim made in a listing. We encourage you to visit any property before committing to a long-term rental and to ask the owner every question you need answered before signing anything.
